U.S-Japan-South Korea Legislative Exchange Program, 1989-2016

Professor Nau receives the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, from the Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the United States, Kenichiro Sasae, at the Japanese Embassy, September 29, 2016. This award recognized Nau’s role directing the US-Japan-South Korea Legislative Exchange Program for 27 years, semi-annual meetings of Members of the US Congress, Japanese Diet and South Korea National Assembly in which legislators met confidentially to discuss controversial issues on domestic and global affairs. The U.S.-Japan-South Korea Legislative Exchange Program brings together legislators from the United States Congress, Japanese Diet and South Korean National Asssmbly twice a year to discuss the pressing issues in domestic and foreign affairs.
